Is Bluepoint working on a Bloodborne remaster and sequel?

Before we proceed, it’s worth noting that everything that you’re about to read is speculation. 2015’s Bloodborne is widely considered one of the best video games of all time. Many Soulsborne fans label Bloodborne as the game that Dark Souls II could have been, had FromSoftware devoted its resources to working on it. Instead, development on Bloodborne and Dark Souls II ran in parallel with each other. However, Hidetaka Miyazaki was more focused on Bloodborne, which resulted in a much better game. There’s no denying that Bloodborne is starting to show its age a bit. Even though it’s been less than a decade since Bloodborne was released, FromSoftware hasn’t exactly made many quality of life improvements to the game over the years. In fact, despite Bloodborne’s popularity, FromSoftware still hasn’t released a patch that would allow the game to run at a true 4K resolution at 60 FPs on the PS5. Even the latter would make so much difference for a game where smoother gameplay matters. With that said, a remastered version of Bloodborne specifically made for the PS5 would address these concerns and it appears that one is in the works.

— Millie A (@millieamand) October 5, 2021 Colin Moriarty and Millie A are two well-known industry insiders. The former isn’t just some random insider either. He’s a former editor of IGN and has been correct about his information several times before. For example, he was one of the first to break the news on Bluepoint Games’ Demon’s Souls remake. He also talked about Insomniac Games’ upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine title way before its official announcement. What is more interesting is Moriarty’s screen-capped statement on Discord where he claims that Bluepoint is going to work on a Bloodborne sequel after the remaster. Of course, nothing is confirmed at the moment. Not to mention, rumors and speculation of a Bloodborne remake or remaster have made rounds pretty much for the past year or two. But, if it’s any consolation, Moriarty did promise to follow up with a source over at Bluepoint Games. So, you might want to check out Moriarty’s Twitter account more frequently over the next few days or weeks for an update. Until then, fans can watch out for Elden Ring and other Soulslike games that are set to release within the next few years.
