While the cinematic trailer isn’t accompanied by any descriptions or gameplay details, there is plenty of intel that can be deduced from what we see, like what new weapons and operators to expect, and where the new maps will be set. The trailer depicts a military chopper flying through the mountains of Laos, en route to a rescue mission. The scene then cuts to a terrified soldier fleeing through the jungle only to bump right into a trap - this is how the new villain makes their first appearance. Called Naga, inexplicably revealed by a custom playing card (?) that the fleeing soldier was carrying (??), this skilled killer is working for a shady contact who is responsible for the kidnapping of Adler, and is tasked with making the operators think he is after Nova 6 supplies instead. Next up we’re introduced to a new character who we assume will be a playable operator once Season 2 launches, toting one of the new weapons - a tactical crossbow! This weapon will likely favor stealth and marksmanship, due to the silent usage, presumable high damage and long reload time. After taking cover to escape the fire of pursuing henchmen, the escaping Operator is saved by the arrival of the chopper - as the squad steps off one by one for maximum dramatic effect, we get a preview of who we assume the other seasonal operators will be, toting some fancy new weapons that we expect to be able to unlock such as the Galil and a minigun. The latter might be a scorestreak, though.
The trailer ends with the squad regrouping and getting ready to head out into the jungle, with a sweeping shot of the landscape revealing some buildings in the distance. We assume that many of the new maps being introduced in Season 2 will take place in Laos, and advance the on-going narrative around the disappearance of Adler and the involvement of Stitch. Nova 6 being name-dropped is interesting considering the recent reference to the supply ship Vodyanoy in an in-game teaser players have discovered on Rebirth Island. The smuggling ship is known to carry the substance, and between this, the appearance of Nova 6 in Zombies and the discovery of a Trial Machine in a Verdansk Hospital led many fans to assume we’ll get some kind of Zombies mode in Warzone as well with the new season. We’ll have to wait until Treyarch reveals more - but not for long. Season 2 in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone launches on the 25th of February, 2021. This means the new content is dropping next Thursday, and the developers are bound to reveal more details before then.
