As Across the Spider-Verse expands the entire multiversal cast even further, the producers are saying that they’ll take advantage of a growing list of animation techniques and visions as well, saying to Empire: Ambitious is the perfect word to describe the original film, which came out in 2018. We’re not sure if it’s enough to describe the sequel. It’s not just because Across the Spider-Verse will employ six different animation styles. The sequel is actually a two-part movie that won’t reach its full potential until the threequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, comes out two years from now. Ultimately, Lord and Miller have proven that they deserve the benefit of the doubt. As we eagerly await Across the Spider-Verse to hit theaters on June 2, Spider-Man fans can keep themselves busy by keeping up with the latest news in the rumor mill. The last we heard, Sony was thinking of including Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the Spider-Verse, which should get fans even more excited. If that happens, we wouldn’t be surprised if either one of Peter Parker or Miles Morales from Insomniac Games’ trio of Marvel’s Spider-Man titles swings by as well. Speaking of, Insomniac recently assured fans that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be out on the PS5 by next year.
