Despite having already fought against seasoned fighters in the boxing ring, Jake, the younger of the infamous Paul brothers, has never squared up against someone who’s ever fought as a boxer for a reasonable time. This is about to change now that he’s scheduled to fight Tommy Fury on December 18 in Tampa, Florida.

Jake will get his first real taste of boxing in December

Jake is currently 4-0 in his brief career as a professional boxer. The 24-year-old prizefighter recently fought and won against Tyron Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion. For his next fight, he will go up against someone with a similar story to him. Just like Jake, Tommy is a celebrity in the UK and the younger brother of another professional boxer. The only difference, Tommy’s older brother, Tyson Fury, is the current heavyweight boxing champion. The upcoming bout, which was officially announced last Friday, October 29, will be contested at 192 pounds and will last for eight, three-minute rounds. A month ago, Tyson Fury joked in a Boxing Social interview that if Tommy lost to Jake, he should change his name. Jake replied by proposing that if he beats Tommy, then Tommy will have to change his name to Tommy Fumbles. But, if Tommy wins, Jake will give Tommy $500,000 of the fight’s purse. By the time that the match became official, Jake clarified that Tommy had agreed to put his name on the line. In addition to Jake Paul and Tommy Fury, Amanda Serrano is also set to compete in the same event. It’s currently unknown who the 41-1-1 fighter is going to fight on December 18. It will be interesting to see how the match between Jake and Tommy goes. For Jake, this will serve as his third fight this year alone. Before walking away with a split decision win over Tyron Woodley last August, Jake had knocked out former Bellator and ONE champion, Ben Askin, in April. Jake has also scored knockout wins against NBA veteran, Nate Robison, as well as AnEsonGib, a fellow YouTuber. As for Tommy, he previously fought as an undercard during the Paul vs. Woodley event. He won against Jake’s sparring partner, Anthony Taylor, via unanimous decision. Tommy’s fight against Jake will be his first to go past four rounds.
