If you’re curious to find out exactly what happened (minus the spoilers), don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.

When is the second season of Loki coming to Disney+?

Loki is the first Disney Plus show to officially get a second season and what better way to announce this than at the finale of the first season? Although seeing the first season end was a bit of a bummer, fans can take solace knowing that it won’t be long before we see Loki pop up on the small screen next. To avoid spoiling readers, we’ll skip over much of the details about what happened during the season finale. Instead, we’ll focus on the end part, where a close-up of TVA paperwork with the words “Loki will return for season 2” is written on a stamp. It’s evident that the MCU doesn’t want to let go of the god of mischief yet, and we’re excited to see where his next adventures are going to take him.

What’s next for the MCU?

As we’ve already mentioned, Loki is the third MCU TV series to hit Disney Plus following WandaVision and The Falcon, and The Winter Soldier. The former stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany in their MCU film roles as the Scarlet Witch and Vision. The show recently earned 23 Emmy nominations. Meanwhile, the latter received five Emmy nominations after it saw Anthony Mackie struggle with and eventually take on the mantle of Captain America with the help of Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes. After Loki, fans won’t have to wait for too long to get their Marvel fix. The animated Marvel series, What If…, is set to premiere in August followed by Hawkeye sometime before the year ends. Yelena Belova, who played the role of Florence Pugh in the record-breaking movie, Black Widow, is set to make an appearance in Hawkeye along with Jeremy Renner and MCU newcomer, Hailee Steinfield. Another TV series, Ms. Marvel, which will star another MCU newcomer in Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, is due in late 2021 with Tatiana Maslany, another MCU first-timer, confirmed to star in the titular role of She-Hulk sometime in 2022. In addition to the aforementioned MCU TV series, there are multiple other projects in development for Disney+ as well. This includes Moon Knight with Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke; Secret Invasion with Samuel L. Jackson and Emilia Clarke; Ironheart with Dominique Thorne; Armor Wars with Don Cheadle; I am Groot; and finally, a still-untitled TV series that will take place in Wakanda. It’s safe to say that Disney+ will be filled with TV shows that are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the foreseeable future. Make no mistake, more MCU films are coming as well. After Black Widow broke box-office records, there is no way that Disney is going to rest on its proverbial laurels. If anything, the success of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow swansong will only make Disney want to push through with its planned lineup that will include Shang-Chi, Eternals, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, before 2021 ends. In the meantime, feel free to check out your favorite Marvel characters in other media. The Loki skin is still available in Fortnite. Meanwhile, the roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers has just been updated, with the War for Wakanda expansion set to arrive soon. Finally, fans can also look forward to playing as the ragtag team of galactic heroes in Square Enix’s Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy sometime in October 2021.
