The official Dead Space account has confirmed that the Dead Space remake will come out on January 27, 2023.
— Dead Space (@deadspace) May 12, 2022 The announcement comes two months after EA Motive delayed the Dead Space remake to 2023 after initially targeting a late 2022 release date for the game. Unfortunately, EA had nothing more than the Dead Space logo and the new launch date to show for the latest news. Dead Space is widely considered one of the most horrifying games of all time. The original trilogy was released from 2008 through 2013 to much success, spawning multiple spin-offs in the process. Unfortunately, despite the success of 2013’s threequel, EA never got around to making a fourth installment. Now, EA Motive is working on a remake of the 2008 game, which, surprisingly enough, will be made using EA’s proprietary Frostbite engine instead of Unreal Engine 5. It will be interesting to see how the remade visuals and upgraded sound design as well as art direction will look like on current-gen consoles. For what it’s worth, EA Motive hasn’t been shy about showing off the Dead Space remake. Ever since confirming the Dead Space remake at EA Play 2021, the studio has done a great job at keeping audiences in the loop. So far, EA Motive has released nearly a dozen videos showcasing all the new technology they’ll use to help make the game as realistic and as horrifying as possible. Speaking of Electronic Arts, the controversial publisher has a lot going on For example, EA wants to release Battlefield Mobile later this year. In addition, EA is reportedly sitting on at least four secret projects that are scheduled for a 2023 release. Finally, EA has cut ties with FIFA following a year-long and very public spat.
