Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is one of the most highly anticipated titles of the year and fans of the Koei Tecmo subsidiary will be glad to know that the ESRB gave the game a Mature+ rating for blood, gore, and violence as well as in-game purchases. Here’s the ESRB description of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty: IGN recently shared a ten-minute gameplay video of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. From the gameplay video, audiences can see the amount of violence and gore present in the game during combat. The game is being touted as a Soulslike game. However, based on the gameplay video, it may be much closer to a Monster Hunter meets Ghost of Tsushima type of action game in terms of combat and movements. The combat has a nice flow to it and dodging looks to play a huge role, especially when fighting the bosses. Traversal mechanics and the game’s environment may also play a huge part in the game’s combat. We can see from the trailer that players can use the terrain as a platform on which they can perform jumping attacks. While the ESRB rating mentions in-game purchases, but it remains unclear how much the microtransactions will play a part in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja haven’t confirmed the extent of the in-game purchases available for players in the upcoming ARPG. The term “in-game purchases” can be interpreted in different ways. Some microtransactions can be purely cosmetic while other games feature gameplay-aiding items such as XP boosts or starter weapons. The Digital Deluxe Edition of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty does include several bonus armor sets. We can assume that at least some of the microtransactions will be for cosmetic items that players can use in-game. We’ll find out more as soon as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty comes out on March 3.
